In the 2nd minute Bebeto Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Abelardo Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. After having played for 35 minutes, Otávio de Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Timoteo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otávio de Almeida was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Patrick Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Pajou EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Pinho couldn't finish the play. After 42 played minutes Timoteo got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Breckenfeld. Laerte Breckenfeld's late challenge caught a Pajou EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laerte Breckenfeld helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Bebeto Goiano made the kick off in the second half. Ediberto de Carvalho hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Abelardo Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Frederico Maciel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Bebeto Goiano in the 75th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Bebeto Goiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Telmo Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Pajou EC's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Goiano came free, but Telmo Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Arce kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Telmo Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bebeto Goiano in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Bebeto Goiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frederico Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Pinho in the 89th minute of play. Dida Arce charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dida Arce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Pajou EC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Dida Arce hit a great ball. Pajou EC's Telmo Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Goiano in the 93rd minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
