In the 32nd minute Tomás Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oséias Gaúcho in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dênis Urbano saved Malaquias from getting behind. Dênis Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oséias Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inácio da Silveira made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Leonel Quaresma sent off a good shot on target. Caturama's Tomás Andrade got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Caturama's Oséias Gaúcho in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Malaquias's goalie prevented a goal.

Inácio da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Quaresma in the 63rd minute of the match. Inácio da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Magalhães in the 64th minute of play. After having played for 66 minutes, Ivo Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caturama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivo Carvalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomás Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the game, Décio Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Malaquias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caturama the free kick. In the 71st minute, Décio Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Oséias Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malaquias's Dênis Urbano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséias Gaúcho in the 81st minute of play. In the 86th minute, Alfredo Magalhães left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malaquias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. A collision led to Caturama getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ivo Carvalho hit a great ball. Leonel Quaresma struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Inácio da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal.
