Mauro Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, Augusto Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 24th minute Pessoa AD were awarded a corner. Antônio Carlos Simões went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Antônio Carlos Simões almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Acary SC's Doriva Ceresso did a great save. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Perivaldo da Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Acary SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Perivaldo da Mata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Perivaldo da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Santos having to interfere. The supporters of Acary SC booed when Pessoa AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aníbal Camargo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Santana in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Guedes in the 40th minute of play forced Acary SC's goalkeeper Doriva Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Samuel Santos made a huge save. Aníbal Camargo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Perivaldo da Mata made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Acary SC's Marco Netto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pessoa AD's Albertinho Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wanderson Guedes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Doriva Ceresso came out and tried to block the shot, but Wanderson Guedes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 62nd minute. If Perivaldo da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Acary SC's Mauro Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wanderson Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Doriva Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84thth minute of the game Wanderson Guedes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Acary SC's Doriva Ceresso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Santana in the 86th minute of play forced Pessoa AD's goalkeeper Samuel Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albertinho Ferreira hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Samuel Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Santana in the 91st minute of the match. The Pessoa AD players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Acary SC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
