Cafu dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilmar Faustino having to interfere. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Santos Futebol Cluba's goalkeeper Elói Toledo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Betinho Cavalcante charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Betinho Cavalcante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Betinho Cavalcante hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Santos Futebol Cluba's goal looked a bit too open when Rodriguinho Correia came free, but Elói Toledo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilmar Faustino was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Oséas Neiva showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. Oitizeiro's Laércio Alagoano managed to work through Santos Futebol Cluba's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Laércio Alagoano dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 26 played minutes Santos Futebol Cluba got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Cavalcante. In the 27th minute, Rodriguinho Correia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After recieving a nice pass, Oitizeiro's Lauro Paes tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Elói Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodriguinho Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laércio Alagoano in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elói Toledo saved Santos Futebol Cluba from getting behind. After 34 minutes of play, Oitizeiro's Rodriguinho Correia made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elói Toledo was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Oitizeiro getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Allan Cardoso hit a great ball. If Oséas Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elói Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerson Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 44 played minutes Oitizeiro got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Monteiro. Cafu dos Santos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Nilmar Faustino skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oséas Neiva to make the kick off. Rodriguinho Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Elói Toledo made a huge save. Oitizeiro's Nilmar Faustino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cafu dos Santos in the 60th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Cafu dos Santos notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Oitizeiro's Nilmar Faustino. Nilmar Faustino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cafu dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Nilmar Faustino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elói Toledo was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Laércio Alagoano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Laércio Alagoano really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Santos Futebol Cluba's zone, Rodriguinho Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elói Toledo came out of the goal and Rodriguinho Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 79 minutes, Ezequiel Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oitizeiro and the Santos Futebol Cluba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ezequiel Monteiro hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cafu dos Santos in the 80th minute of play forced Oitizeiro's goalkeeper Nilmar Faustino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Zé Pedro Lopes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oitizeiro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos Futebol Cluba the free kick. Elói Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodriguinho Correia in the 90th minute. If Laércio Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Oitizeiro players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Santos Futebol Cluba from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
