In the 23rd minute, Basílio Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisinho Cosme made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Teodoro Quirino sent off a good shot on target. Dorian Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorian Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute Dorian Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonny Andreasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 played minutes Santa Teresa got a freekick which was hit by Pedro de Barros. 34 minutes into the match, Miracema's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredão Secco came free, but Luisinho Cosme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Teodoro Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Otávio Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, Miracema's goalkeeper Luisinho Cosme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teodoro Quirino. Valdir Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredão Secco in the 45th minute of play forced Miracema's goalkeeper Luisinho Cosme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisinho Cosme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teodoro Quirino in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredão Secco made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Belmiro Moraes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonny Andreasson. Belmiro Moraes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Miracema's Cipriano Penha got a free kick in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Miracema's Dorian Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonny Andreasson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Dorian Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 played minutes, Santa Teresa's Celso Veiga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luisinho Cosme came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santa Teresa reached it. After some careless play in the Miracema defense, Alfredão Secco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisinho Cosme. The Miracema fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisinho Cosme should have stopped the shot. In the 73rd minute Alfredão Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorian Seco took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonny Andreasson. Jonny Andreasson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Jonny Andreasson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dorian Seco in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute Belmiro Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonny Andreasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro de Barros's late challenge caught a Miracema's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro de Barros helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Miracema booed when Santa Teresa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Miracema's Jonny Andreasson threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luan Passos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
