Iguatu FC's Reginaldo Ferraz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Ferreira in the 7th minute of play. Severino Paraíba's late challenge caught a Iguatu FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Severino Paraíba helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Torto getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Severino Paraíba hit a great ball. After 12 played minutes Iguatu FC got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Palmeira. 13 minutes into the match, Iguatu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Paraíba came free, but Reginaldo Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 16 minutes of play, Torto's Severino Paraíba made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reginaldo Ferraz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 22 minutes into the match, Severino Paraíba had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reginaldo Ferraz. Iguatu FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Paraíba was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 29 played minutes Iguatu FC got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Urbano. Reginaldo Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Paulo Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 33 minutes, Severino Paraíba made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Iguatu FC's Reginaldo Ferraz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Torto's zone, Diego Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lenílson Abreu came out of the goal and Diego Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Ferreira in the 39th minute of play forced Iguatu FC's goalkeeper Reginaldo Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Iguatu FC booed when Torto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

In the 62nd match minute, Torto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Toledo to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, José Paulo Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torto's supporters rose to their feet, but José Paulo Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reginaldo Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reginaldo Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute.
