Torto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If José Paulo Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdemar Monteiro in the 26th minute of play forced Torto's goalkeeper Lenílson Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lenílson Abreu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Monteiro in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, José Paulo Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdemar Monteiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lenílson Abreu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdemar Monteiro ran back to his position shaking his head. José Paulo Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lenílson Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Santos in the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Valdemar Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lenílson Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Valdemar Monteiro made the kick off in the second half. Válter Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo Ferreira in the 51st minute of the match. A collision led to Torto getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Nicolas Toledo hit a great ball. In the 66th match minute, Torto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jardel Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. Nicolas Toledo's late challenge caught a Bambura's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nicolas Toledo helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Anselmo Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bambura's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenílson Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72nd minute, Nicolas Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lenílson Abreu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdemar Monteiro's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Anselmo Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bambura's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenílson Abreu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bambura would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
