If Didi de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 13 minutes, Mané Soeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racionais FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mané Soeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bacayuval SS's Dinei Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno de Castro in the 15th minute of play. With a little luck, Racionais FC's Silvério Coelho got control of the ball when Ivo Secco tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Bacayuval SS's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Soeiro came free, but Dinei Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Mané Soeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinei Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Bacayuval SS getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Osvaldo Breckenfeld hit a great ball. In the 26th match minute, Bacayuval SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Vianna to maneuver through the defense. If Mané Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Maurício Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bacayuval SS's Dinei Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mané Soeiro in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi de Carvalho in the 37th minute of play forced Bacayuval SS's goalkeeper Dinei Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute, Mané Soeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mané Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Gaúcho having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Jaime Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racionais FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jaime Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute, Didi de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 54 played minutes Bacayuval SS got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Campidelis. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racionais FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Teodoro Velloso was slow to take the kick. During this time Bacayuval SS's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Teodoro Velloso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Silvério Coelho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivo Secco in the 60th minute of play forced Racionais FC's goalkeeper Silvério Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldo Breckenfeld's late challenge caught a Racionais FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osvaldo Breckenfeld helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st minute, Osvaldo Breckenfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mané Soeiro in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei Gaúcho saved Bacayuval SS from getting behind. Silvério Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Guimarães in the 71st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Didi de Carvalho got free with Dinei Gaúcho in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Silvério Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mané Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Dinei Gaúcho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Bacayuval SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Breckenfeld to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Breno de Castro in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei Gaúcho saved Bacayuval SS from getting behind. Dinei Gaúcho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mané Soeiro's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Didi de Carvalho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
