In the 19th match minute, Coimbra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Coimbra's Virgílio Queiroz got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Virgílio Queiroz took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ruy Coelho to make any attempt to save it. Cido Guerra struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Hamílton Xavier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for THE EXPENDABLES FC. Ruy Coelho was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Christiano dos Santos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 34 minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind THE EXPENDABLES FC's goalkeeper Ruy Coelho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ruy Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christiano dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Christiano dos Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christiano dos Santos during the 89th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruy Coelho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Coimbra had won after a very even match.
