Váldson Ferreira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Elias de Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Váldson Ferreira having to interfere. If Alberto Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Tarcisio Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agnaldo Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Váldson Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleiton Urbano in the 61st minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Faral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Guilherme Leite to maneuver through the defense. If Luiz Guilherme Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes in the game, Agnaldo Britto fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tarcisio Moreira having to interfere. The referee ignored Faral's protests and gave Luiz Guilherme Leite a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Faral getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Luiz Guilherme Leite hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Faral's Agnaldo Britto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2.
