Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hélder Soares took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 15 minutes of play, Cascata AD's Luís Gustavo Quirino made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chicão Camargo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chicão Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Oriental's zone, Hélder Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Camargo came out of the goal and Hélder Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oriental's Chicão Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Gustavo Quirino in the 27th minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Duarte Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cascata AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Duarte Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luís Gustavo Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Luís Gustavo Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 played minutes Cascata AD got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Porto. Hélder Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chicão Camargo having to interfere. In the 48th match minute, Cascata AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duarte Brito to maneuver through the defense. 49 minutes into the match, Oriental's Emerson Xavier broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serginho Tróia to make the kick off. After 56 minutes Cascata AD's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Emerson Xavier who took care of the corner kick. A hard shot 64 in the game by Luís Gustavo Quirino from a close distance when the talented Chicão Camargo managed to make a qualified save. Oriental's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, Oriental's Rodolfo Tinoco got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute, Hélder Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luís Gustavo Quirino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Chicão Camargo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 73rd match minute, Cascata AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdir Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. Oriental's Fausto Diniz got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emerson Xavier charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emerson Xavier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 80 played minutes Oriental got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Xavier. Luís Gustavo Quirino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chicão Camargo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Rubens Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Oriental's zone, Luís Gustavo Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chicão Camargo came out of the goal and Luís Gustavo Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Cascata AD players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
