Adhemar Guedes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Secco took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Romário Gaspar. Romário Gaspar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Leopoldo Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Romário Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romário Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leopoldo Rezende, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Carlos Alberto Motta hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Christian Secco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romário Gaspar. Varzelandia SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Secco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Romário Gaspar acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 22nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Wágner Paulista. Mauro Maia's late challenge caught a Luzeiro EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Maia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th match minute, Varzelandia SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Maia to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Carlos Alberto Motta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Secco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romário Gaspar having to interfere. Leopoldo Rezende struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Romário Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luzeiro EC. A collision led to Luzeiro EC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Ademar Reis hit a great ball. Alfredo Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Prestes in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adhemar Guedes to make the kick off. Leopoldo Rezende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Romário Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Adhemar Guedes came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Varzelandia SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adhemar Guedes couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Luzeiro EC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ademar Reis hit a great ball. Luzeiro EC's Alfredo Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adhemar Guedes in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute Christian Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romário Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 minutes, Carlos Alberto Motta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varzelandia SC and the Luzeiro EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlos Alberto Motta kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Varzelandia SC's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Secco came free, but Romário Gaspar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Luzeiro EC's zone, Robinho Prestes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Gerber came out of the goal and Robinho Prestes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 played minutes Luzeiro EC got a freekick which was hit by Tarcisio Ferreira. Robinho Prestes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Alfredo Gerber made a huge save. When Luzeiro EC's Christian Secco in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varzelandia SC's goalie prevented a goal. When Leopoldo Rezende came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Luzeiro EC fans jumped to their feet.
