Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sílvio Luís Furlan started the match with the kick off. If Anísio Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the match, Válter Diniz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Macuripary EC's Régis Santana. Régis Santana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tião de Andrade was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sílvio Luís Furlan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 9 minute of play. In the 12th minute, Anísio Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Válter Diniz kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. The long shot by Celso Paranaense in the 16th minute really tested Tião de Andrade's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 22 minutes into the match, Amaniu's goalkeeper Tião de Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dadá Braga. Sílvio Luís Furlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Tião de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 minutes of play, Amaniu's Anísio Maranhense made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Régis Santana was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Amaniu getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Lino Meirelles hit a great ball. Régis Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Chiquinho Mazza came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Amaniu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chiquinho Mazza couldn't finish the play. If Dadá Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Luís Furlan in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tião de Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Claudinho Vargas hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Celso Paranaense didn't quite understand what happened when in the 48 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chiquinho Mazza to make the kick off. Tião de Andrade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dadá Braga's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Válter Diniz hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Macuripary EC's Régis Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chiquinho Mazza in the 59th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Sílvio Luís Furlan put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tião de Andrade. 66 minutes into the match, Amaniu's goal looked a bit too open when Sílvio Luís Furlan came free, but Tião de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Anísio Maranhense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Régis Santana. Macuripary EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anísio Maranhense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Dadá Braga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macuripary EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dadá Braga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tião de Andrade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dadá Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tião de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luís Furlan in the 80th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, Macuripary EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Alves to maneuver through the defense. If Chiquinho Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Macuripary EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Régis Santana, was totally fooled by Amaniu's Claudinho Vargas, who 87 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Amaniu's Chiquinho Mazza got a free kick in the 90th minute. Chiquinho Mazza received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Régis Santana came out and tried to block the shot, but Chiquinho Mazza slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 92nd minute. Anísio Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Régis Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amaniu. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Chiquinho Mazza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amaniu's supporters rose to their feet, but Chiquinho Mazza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Régis Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
