In the 7th minute Ricardo Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wágner Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Prestes charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rogério Prestes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Irapoa booed when Cordeiro Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ricardo Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Irapoa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Mendes couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute, Anderson Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cléberson Dionísio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Téo Marinho. Irapoa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Téo Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Prestes in the 18th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Wágner Prestes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. José Vítor Souto hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cordeiro Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Wágner Prestes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fábio Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wágner Prestes having to interfere. After 34 minutes, Eugênio de Souza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Irapoa and the Cordeiro Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eugênio de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Irapoa's goal looked a bit too open when José Maria Braga came free, but Téo Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the game, Ricardo Mendes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wágner Prestes. Ricardo Mendes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 46th match minute, Irapoa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio de Souza to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Maria Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wágner Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Fábio Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Wágner Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
