In the 19th match minute, Pennapolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Pereira having to interfere. Cristóvão Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Belmiro Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute Valdir Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belmiro Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Pennapolis defense, Cristóvão Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Belmiro Freire. The Pennapolis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Belmiro Freire should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Rodeleiro EC booed when Pennapolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldir Loureiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 minutes, Waldir Loureiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pennapolis and the Rodeleiro EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee ignored Pennapolis's protests and gave Miguel Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pennapolis getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Miguel Almeida hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Rodeleiro EC's Rafinha Rodrigues broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Christiano Correia notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Pennapolis's Belmiro Freire. Belmiro Freire was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Cristóvão Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The Rodeleiro EC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pennapolis had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
