Zé Ramalho yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Amílton de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Anajatuba SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amílton de Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Ramalho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Bahia booed when Anajatuba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Bahia:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Anajatuba SC:s goal. Zé Ramalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dino Coutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Amílton de Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Ramalho having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Beto Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Anajatuba SC's Caetano da Rocha got control of the ball when Beto Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute, Henrique Proença left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Anajatuba SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Coutinho in the 71st minute of play forced Bahia's goalkeeper Zé Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Bahia's Beto Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caetano da Rocha narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
