If Ademir Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Fernando Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademir Maciel in the 13th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the game, José Maria França was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anacetaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Celestial Futebol Clube the free kick. The supporters of Celestial Futebol Clube booed when Anacetaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria França didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Augusto Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, Anacetaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Maria França to maneuver through the defense. When Celestial Futebol Clube's Ademir Maciel in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Anacetaba's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Wellington Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. Celestial Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Wellington Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wellington Albuquerque hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Luiz Fernando Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Maciel in the 30th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Celestial Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Hamílton Mumbach came free, but Alfredo Quaresma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Maria França kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Celestial Futebol Clube's Guga Varela tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 44th match minute, Celestial Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvatore Maxwell to maneuver through the defense. Salvatore Maxwell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fernando Luz having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Salvatore Maxwell to strike the kick off in the second half. Celestial Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Anacetaba's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Guga Varela took the corner. After taking down the ball on Celestial Futebol Clube's corner Wellington Albuquerque fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luiz Fernando Luz quite easily take care of the ball. Hamílton Mumbach hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute Salvatore Maxwell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th match minute, Anacetaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Alberto Teles to maneuver through the defense. Celestial Futebol Clube's Thijs de Gooijer got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Fernando Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademir Maciel, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 79th minute Salvatore Maxwell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fernando Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Salvatore Maxwell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Fernando Luz was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Wilton Batista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Alfredo Quaresma made a huge save. If Ademir Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. Celestial Futebol Clube's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
