Ernesto de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Rosa having to interfere. When Cristiano Velloso fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xernobyl FC's protests and gave Cristiano Velloso a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Xernobyl FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Cristiano Velloso hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diguinho Quadros during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Recompensa FC's Diguinho Quadros got a free kick in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Recompensa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Guilherme Fonseca came free, but Álvaro Sá reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 minutes of play, Xernobyl FC's Manoel Guerra made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Álvaro Sá was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ramón Rosa made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when João Pedro Fernandez sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes into the match, Xernobyl FC's Luiz Guilherme Fonseca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Álvaro Sá narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
