Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edinho Trancoso took the kick off in the first half of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Diogo Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guamiranga FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Romeu Terra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Mineiro kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Afonsinho Sá was extremely unlucky when he, in the 9th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to Itapua getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Elder Campidelis hit a great ball. Guamiranga FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wanderson Almeida in the 13th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Itapua's goalie and right to Vítor Gerber. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Itapua's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Afonsinho Sá sped through Guamiranga FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dé Vergílio. After 20 minutes, Edinho Trancoso made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Itapua's Romeu Terra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Itapua's Romeu Terra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Trancoso in the 29th minute of play. Romeu Terra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Rocha in the 31st minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Itapua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Betão Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Wanderson Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute Edinho Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Terra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, Diogo Rocha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romeu Terra. Itapua's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diogo Rocha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonsinho Sá was the one to do the kick off. After 57th play minutes Acácio Pires shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Dé Vergílio and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 61st match minute, Guamiranga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Mineiro to maneuver through the defense. After 62 played minutes, Itapua's Sílvio Montenegro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dé Vergílio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itapua reached it. Diogo Rocha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 66thth minute tested the skills of Romeu Terra when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 68 minutes into the match, Guamiranga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Lago came free, but Dé Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Miguel Mineiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 79 played minutes Guamiranga FC got a freekick which was hit by Kléberson Miranda. In the 81stth minute of the game Antônio Lago who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guamiranga FC's Dé Vergílio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Kléberson Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Guamiranga FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kléberson Miranda couldn't finish the play. Edinho Trancoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Romeu Terra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edinho Trancoso ran back to his position shaking his head. Acácio Pires hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Itapua's Romeu Terra got control of the ball when Diogo Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonsinho Sá in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dé Vergílio saved Guamiranga FC from getting behind. When Afonsinho Sá came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Itapua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonsinho Sá couldn't finish the play. Acácio Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
