If Belmiro Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Espadim's Belmiro Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luisinho Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Elias Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elias Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belmiro Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Espadim's Belmiro Silva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elias Maranhense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ivo Moraes to strike the kick off in the second half. Wilian Cordeiro charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilian Cordeiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joélson Cabral thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished João Carlos Salgado, a very annoying self made goal in the 54th minute which led to 0-1. After a rather tough play, Espadim's Wilian Cordeiro got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, MSI FC & Corp.'s Jeferson Schmidt tried to score from far away in the 63rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. William Palmeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Salgado having to interfere. Luisinho Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. MSI FC & Corp. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
