Coribe SS's Lúcio Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi Veloso in the 11th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Miguel Souto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the game, Glauco Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. São Paulo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coribe SS the free kick. A collision led to São Paulo getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Glauco Toledo hit a great ball. Gustavo Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Oséas Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coribe SS. In the 16th minute, Renan Silveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oséas Quintal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Renan Silveira struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Oséas Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coribe SS. When Davi Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the São Paulo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Davi Veloso couldn't finish the play. São Paulo's Fabrício Cunha shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 25th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Lúcio Nascimento but with some difficulty. Davi Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Miguel Souto fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coribe SS's protests and gave Miguel Souto a yellow card for diving instead. Umberto de Sousa took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lúcio Nascimento. Lúcio Nascimento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Augusto Ferreira during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. José Augusto Ferreira hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute Coribe SS were awarded a corner. Lauro Massa went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Lauro Massa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but São Paulo's Oséas Quintal did a great save. After the first half Coribe SS were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd match minute, São Paulo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raúl Tavares to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute, Glauco Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oséas Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renan Silveira's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. São Paulo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Renan Silveira scored to the left of an out of position Oséas Quintal, making the score, 1-3. If Umberto de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Gustavo Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oséas Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renan Silveira in the 74th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, São Paulo's Umberto de Sousa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lúcio Nascimento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 94 minutes São Paulo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lauro Massa who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Coribe SS's Renan Silveira to a score. 1-5 in the 94th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Coribe SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
