Osvaldinho Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 5 played minutes Saids AD got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Gaspar. Chicão Tande succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 10th playminute. After a rather tough play, Saids AD's José Pedro Gaspar got a free kick in the 13th minute. Edinho Dante scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romário Diniz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Saids AD's Romário Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osvaldinho Pombal in the 21st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Counani's Maurinho Paranaense got a free kick in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastião Recife in the 28th minute of play forced Counani's goalkeeper Thiago Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes Saids AD got a freekick which was hit by Ulysses Vides. Saids AD's Romário Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Dante in the 39th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, Sebastião Recife cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Thiago Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 44 minutes into the game, José Pedro Gaspar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saids AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Counani the free kick. After 44 played minutes Saids AD got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Gaspar. In the 47th minute Counani were awarded a corner. Hudson Moura went to the cornerflag to take it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Edinho Dante got free with Romário Diniz in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Counani booed when Saids AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osvaldinho Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Romário Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saids AD's goalkeeper Romário Diniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Saids AD's goalkeeper Romário Diniz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edinho Dante. Osvaldinho Pombal charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Chicão Tande notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Counani's Thiago Cruz. Thiago Cruz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Counani players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Saids AD.
