Thiago Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pauini AD. 6 minutes into the match, Counani's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Miranda came free, but Thiago Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Counani booed when Pauini AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armandinho Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Mário Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raphael Bezerra during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Counani! In the 32nd minute there was a penalty for Pauini AD. Luizinho Amaral stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Thiago Cruz. 0-1. Pauini AD's Henrique Tepedino got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frederico Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Thiago Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mário Chaves might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thiago Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mário Chaves ran back to his position shaking his head. Frederico Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Thiago Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Counani players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Pauini AD were winning 0-1.
Frédson Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edinho Dante in the 51st minute of play. Frédson Rosado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldinho Pombal in the 53rd minute of the match. Counani's Thiago Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Counani from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Counani's zone, Frederico Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Cruz came out of the goal and Frederico Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 71 minutes into the match, Counani's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Miranda came free, but Thiago Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Mário Chaves could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Thiago Cruz however easily saved by the left post. After 73 played minutes Counani got a freekick which was hit by Maurinho Paranaense. Pauini AD's Luizinho Amaral couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Counani. Edinho Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute Osvaldinho Pombal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Rosado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pauini AD's Armandinho Cardozo got a free kick in the 89th minute. Osvaldinho Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Frédson Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mário Chaves got free with Thiago Cruz in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
