Armando Maciel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Dorival Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Natanael Netto charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Natanael Netto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th match minute, Torquato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natanael Netto to maneuver through the defense. When Rui Perez fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Torquato's protests and gave Rui Perez a yellow card for diving instead. Rui Perez kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Geovanni Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armando Maciel made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Dorival Oliveira sent off a good shot on target. A hard shot 36 in the game by Dorival Oliveira from a close distance when the talented Armando Maciel managed to make a qualified save. Torquato's players were relieved. Armandinho Freire struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Armando Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Baianiense F.C. Dorival Oliveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Armando Maciel made a huge save. In the 46th minute, Lino Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 56th minute, Dorival Oliveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armando Maciel was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abelardo de Mendonça got free with Bruno da Silveira in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armando Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. The supporters of Torquato booed when Atlético Baianiense F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute, Dorival Oliveira made a precise shot to the right of Armando Maciel. Torquato's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After 86 played minutes Atlético Baianiense F.C got a freekick which was hit by Lino Arruda. A hard shot by Ulisses Palmeira from long distance, 88 minutes into the match, got Bruno da Silveira's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Armando Maciel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adolfo Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Maciel having to interfere.
