If Luiz de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 6 minutes into the game, Gilberto de Alcântara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Eliézer Fantini was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paranavai AL's Eliézer Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edson de Barros in the 8th minute of play. In the 12th minute, EspartaFC's Gilberto de Alcântara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eliézer Fantini. Eliézer Fantini yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 17th minute, Mauro Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the game, Edson de Barros recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eliézer Fantini. Edson de Barros showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The supporters of EspartaFC booed when Paranavai AL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, Raimundo Simões fired a really elegant long shot, but Eliézer Fantini threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. 27 minutes into the game, Edson de Barros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Eliézer Fantini was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to EspartaFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Gilberto de Alcântara hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Luiz de Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paranavai AL fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Giovanni da Mata struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Manuel de Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paranavai AL. After a defensive mix-up in Paranavai AL's zone, Gilberto de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliézer Fantini came out of the goal and Gilberto de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paranavai AL's goalkeeper Eliézer Fantini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-1 at half-time.

In the 52nd minute, Gilberto de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilberto de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Eliézer Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute Gilberto de Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliézer Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Edson de Barros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliézer Fantini. Paranavai AL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edson de Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. Gilberto de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th match minute, EspartaFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson de Barros to maneuver through the defense. When Edson de Barros got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for EspartaFC. Edson de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Paranavai AL's Claudinho Mattos got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute of the match Raimundo Simões sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eliézer Fantini skillfully saved the ball. Eliézer Fantini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edson de Barros in the 91st minute of play. Gilberto de Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Eliézer Fantini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Eduardo Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Eduardo Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
