The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Marcos Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdemar Maciel in the 9th minute of play forced Quandus EC's goalkeeper Yuri Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sapateiro's Valdemar Maciel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yuri Negri. That made the score 1-0 after 13 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adilson Vinhas in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Glauco Xavier saved Sapateiro from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Sapateiro's zone, Adilson Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glauco Xavier came out of the goal and Adilson Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adilson Vinhas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Glauco Xavier having to make a save. In the 34th minute, Edson Urbano sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Quandus EC's Yuri Negri didn't even have to move. Didi Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Glauco Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sapateiro's Glauco Xavier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi Correia in the 43rd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Sapateiro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Quandus EC:s goal. Oscar Luz shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Didi Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Valdemar Maciel made the kick off in the second half. Quandus EC's Didi Correia got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the game, Adilson Vinhas lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Glauco Xavier. André Moura's late challenge caught a Quandus EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Moura helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, Sapateiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Moura to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Luz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Paulo Paraense kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sapateiro's zone, Robinho Zonta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Glauco Xavier came out of the goal and Robinho Zonta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Didi Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Glauco Xavier made a huge save. 82 minutes into the match, Quandus EC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Lima came free, but Yuri Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 83 minutes, Osvaldo Fantini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quandus EC and the Sapateiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. Osvaldo Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Quandus EC's Yuri Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Lima in the 92nd minute of play. Sapateiro's Glauco Xavier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Sapateiro from getting a goal against them.
