Laércio Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gugu Nóbrega having to interfere. Tefe's Gugu Nóbrega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laércio Netto in the 28th minute of play. Pedro Augusto da Mata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Jericoacoara AD's goal looked a bit too open when Sydney Corrêa came free, but Mathias Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Tefe's Roger do Nascimento got a free kick in the 35th minute. The audience was convinced that Dino Vieira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gugu Nóbrega was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. When Laércio Netto came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Jericoacoara AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio Netto couldn't finish the play. After 42 minutes Jericoacoara AD's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dida de Godoi who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Tefe's Gabriel Miranda got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sydney Corrêa to make the kick off. Paulo José Alvarenga hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. The Jericoacoara AD fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mathias Fantini should have stopped the shot. When Laerte Arce fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tefe's protests and gave Laerte Arce a yellow card for diving instead. Laerte Arce kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Gugu Nóbrega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero Santana in the 72nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Laércio Netto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jericoacoara AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Netto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gugu Nóbrega breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Jericoacoara AD's zone, Pedro Augusto da Mata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Fantini came out of the goal and Pedro Augusto da Mata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eriberto de Queirós during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Tefe booed when Jericoacoara AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eriberto de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sydney Corrêa in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mathias Fantini saved Jericoacoara AD from getting behind. Laércio Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dida de Godoi was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Jericoacoara AD's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Augusto da Mata came free, but Mathias Fantini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Tefe's Sydney Corrêa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mathias Fantini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mathias Fantini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sydney Corrêa's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. Dino Vieira struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Gugu Nóbrega didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jericoacoara AD. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
