Vânderson Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amílton Britto in the 5th minute of the match. Vânderson Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amílton Britto's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Edgard Corrêa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 10 minutes, Ramón Freitas made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Nictheroi FC's Vânderson Lira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ramón Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodriguinho Dantas got free with Jonathan Prata in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Prata made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Rodriguinho Dantas sent off a good shot on target. Amílton Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th match minute, Nictheroi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. If Amílton Britto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Nictheroi FC's Dorian de Carvalho got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 33rd match minute, Araty FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Arósio to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Nictheroi FC defense, Amílton Britto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vânderson Lira. The Nictheroi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vânderson Lira should have stopped the shot. Amílton Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Lira having to interfere. Amílton Britto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vânderson Lira having to make a save. Amílton Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Edgard Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araty FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgard Corrêa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vânderson Lira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amílton Britto struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Vânderson Lira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Araty FC. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amílton Britto made a kick off. Jonathan Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dionísio Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the game, one of Nictheroi FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The excitement rose when Araty FC's Olavo Arósio after 57 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Nictheroi FC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-3. After 60 minutes of play, Nictheroi FC's Rodriguinho Dantas made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Prata was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodriguinho Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Amílton Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vânderson Lira having to interfere. After having played for 73 minutes, Amílton Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Araty FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílton Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dionísio Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Prata having to interfere. Nictheroi FC's Vânderson Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Freitas in the 81st minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Nictheroi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Freitas came free, but Vânderson Lira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Amílton Britto came free with the goalkeeper in the 97th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vânderson Lira could save by the left post.
