West Ham's Célio Alcântara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save West Ham from getting a goal against them. Célio Alcântara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breno Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, one of West Ham:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for West Ham. Célio Alcântara had in the 20thth minute some difficulties stopping Erasmo Melo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Célio Alcântara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armandinho Ceresso in the 21st minute. Sidnei Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Benjamin Meireles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Célio Alcântara made a huge save. 30 minutes into the match, West Ham's goalkeeper Célio Alcântara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armandinho Ceresso. Célio Alcântara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benjamin Meireles in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 73rdth minute of the game Armandinho Ceresso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but West Ham's Célio Alcântara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sidnei Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramón Castro having to interfere. Célio Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breno Sabóia in the 91st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cataguarino's Jorge Moura got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The supporters of Cataguarino booed when West Ham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armandinho Ceresso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célio Alcântara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Cataguarino were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of West Ham for a fine match.
