Edgard Miranda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, West Ham's goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Cavalcante came free, but Célio Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Rogério Seco notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of West Ham's Célio Alcântara. Célio Alcântara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 21st minute Olavo de Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Célio Alcântara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, West Ham's goal looked a bit too open when Olavo de Medeiros came free, but Célio Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Ceresso in the 47th minute of play forced West Ham's goalkeeper Célio Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Futrica FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sidnei Nogueira made a kick off. After 55 played minutes West Ham got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Diniz. After 57 minutes, Raí Bueno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Futrica FC and the West Ham players grew even worse after the yellow card. Olavo de Medeiros's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Célio Alcântara skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Leandro Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Miranda having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Seco in the 75th minute of play forced West Ham's goalkeeper Célio Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Fabrício Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. West Ham's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabrício Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Célio Alcântara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Seco in the 87th minute of the match. Fabrício Maciel kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Luís Fábio Azevedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Célio Alcântara. West Ham's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some careless play in the Futrica FC defense, Fabrício Maciel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edgard Miranda. The Futrica FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edgard Miranda should have stopped the shot. Futrica FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
