In the 2nd match minute, Mascarenhas SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Nogueira to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 4 minutes, Silas Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajaru Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silas Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aílton Favoretto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Délio de Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Mascarenhas SS fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Mascarenhas SS's Daniel Koehler looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Aílton Favoretto came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Ajaru Football Club's Jerônimo Melo. But to his dismay, Jerônimo Melo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Daniel Koehler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mascarenhas SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Koehler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 22 minutes, Jerônimo Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajaru Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerônimo Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 25th minute, Sérgio Mesquita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ajaru Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Aílton Favoretto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajaru Football Club. In the 34th minute, Serafim Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerônimo Melo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aílton Favoretto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Frank Queiroz was a little too slow when Silas Passos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-2. After having played for 46 minutes, Alan de Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajaru Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan de Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Silas Passos was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silas Branco in the 55th minute of play forced Mascarenhas SS's goalkeeper Aílton Favoretto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alan de Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Délio de Amaral's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aílton Favoretto was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Dedê Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Aílton Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Ajaru Football Club's Jerônimo Melo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aílton Favoretto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mascarenhas SS's zone, Alan de Senna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aílton Favoretto came out of the goal and Alan de Senna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes in the game Silas Branco after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Aílton Favoretto. A very good opportunity. Mascarenhas SS's Aílton Favoretto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Mascarenhas SS from getting a goal against them. After 87 minutes of play, Mascarenhas SS's Silas Passos made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frank Queiroz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 89 minutes, Conrado Mumbach mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mascarenhas SS and the Ajaru Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Conrado Mumbach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ajaru Football Club's Jerônimo Melo in 91 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Aílton Favoretto guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Alan de Senna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aílton Favoretto having to make a save. After 93 minutes, Kiko Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mascarenhas SS and the Ajaru Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mascarenhas SS's Kiko Arruda got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Silas Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Aílton Favoretto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
