Aílton Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Donato in the 5th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Jaime Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salgidinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Donato was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aílton Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaime Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulysses Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th match minute, Navalha SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Arósio to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aílton Félix having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jaime Donato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aílton Félix was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Ulysses Recife sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aílton Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henrique Marquez made a kick off. Jaime Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Aílton Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henrique Marquez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adalberto Berger having to interfere. Jaime Donatos short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Aílton Félix to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jaime Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Aílton Félix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ulysses Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 80 minutes, Henrique Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Navalha SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrique Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If José Augusto Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adalberto Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Marquez in the 84th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Jaime Donato had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aílton Félix. Navalha SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Donato was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ulysses Recife managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salgidinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulysses Recife was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aílton Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the game, Salgidinho's Jaime Donato nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aílton Félix made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Salgidinho's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
