The referee ignored Bacara's protests and gave Aílton Mendes a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Bacara:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of COLINAS F.C:s goal. Luís Fábio Cerezo shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Eugênio Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Carreira having to interfere. Belchior Britto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrício Gomes's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Leonel Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Belchior Britto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for COLINAS F.C. After 32 played minutes Bacara got a freekick which was hit by Raí Cabral. When Pedro Augusto Prado fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bacara's protests and gave Pedro Augusto Prado a yellow card for diving instead. Pedro Augusto Prado kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 44th minute Patrício Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Belchior Britto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patrício Gomes to make the kick off. The supporters of COLINAS F.C booed when Bacara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Augusto Prado didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patrício Gomes in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Belchior Britto saved Bacara from getting behind. Marcos Maia kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 61 minutes into the match, COLINAS F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Dagoberto Leme came free, but Fausto Carreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fausto Carreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Augusto Prado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Dagoberto Leme kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fausto Carreira. That made the score 0-1 in the 69 minute of play. Fausto Carreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Leme in the 73rd minute of the match. After 73 minutes, Luís Fábio Cerezo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the COLINAS F.C and the Bacara players grew even worse after the yellow card.
