Túlio Linhares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Egídio Arósio in the 17th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Egídio Arósio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Túlio Linhares. That made the score 1-1 in the 18 minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Sapucaial's goal looked a bit too open when Egídio Arósio came free, but Túlio Linhares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egídio Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the game, Amauri Leite was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cova AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sapucaial the free kick. The supporters of Sapucaial booed when Cova AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amauri Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dudu Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 35th match minute, Cova AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Porto to maneuver through the defense. Túlio Linhares was a little too slow when Egídio Arósio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodolfo Jacinto was the one to do the kick off. A nice corner shot did that Eurico de Lima got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Túlio Linhares quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sapucaial's Túlio Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Jacinto in the 58th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Egídio Arósio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cova AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. 65 minutes into the game, Aleandro Paes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The tension between the Sapucaial and the Cova AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dudu Amaral ran back to his position shaking his head. Léo Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Túlio Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egídio Arósio in the 87th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Egídio Arósio made a precise shot to the right of Túlio Linhares. Sapucaial's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. When Cova AD's Rodolfo Jacinto in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sapucaial's goalie prevented a goal.
