Alfredo Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severino Pontes having to interfere. If Alfredo Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oswaldo Peixoto's late challenge caught a Cambauba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oswaldo Peixoto helped the player get up and apologised. Oswaldo Peixoto hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Carlinhos Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magno Pena in the 21st minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Cambauba's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Arósio came free, but Severino Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Alfredo Arósio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rasgao SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfredo Arósio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Pontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 33rd minute Jeferson Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlinhos Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 minutes, Armandinho Zonta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cambauba and the Rasgao SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cambauba getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Armandinho Zonta hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the match, Cambauba's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Arósio came free, but Severino Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cambauba's Magno Pena got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 43 minutes of play, Cambauba's Magno Pena made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlinhos Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredo Arósio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Magno Pena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Carlinhos Barros made a huge save. When Armandinho Zonta was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 53 minutes had been played. In the 54th match minute, Cambauba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armandinho Zonta to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Rasgao SC booed when Cambauba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Paranaense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the game, Rasgao SC's Perivaldo Matos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severino Pontes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When Carlos Arce fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rasgao SC's protests and gave Carlos Arce a yellow card for diving instead. Carlinhos Barros came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Cambauba's Magno Pena. But to his dismay, Magno Pena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 89th minute, Perivaldo Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Magno Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Arósio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cambauba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
