Ibatequara's Romeu Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cesinha de Queirós in the 13th minute of play. If Cesinha de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sérgio Peres came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Flacandói F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sérgio Peres couldn't finish the play. Romeu Damião stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orlando Ortiz's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Ibatequara's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Ortiz came free, but Romeu Damião reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeu Damião showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Ortiz in the 27th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Orlando Ortiz notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ibatequara's Romeu Damião. Romeu Damião was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Romeu Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Orlando Ortiz sped through Ibatequara's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Romeu Damião. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Ortiz in the 41st minute of play forced Ibatequara's goalkeeper Romeu Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlando Ortiz in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Romeu Damião prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Flacandói F. C. were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernardo Vinhas to make the kick off. Romeu Damião was a little too slow when Orlando Ortiz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 0-4. In the 56th minute, Washington Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. André Lira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 61st minute, Severino Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlando Ortiz in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeu Damião saved Ibatequara from getting behind. Orlando Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Ibatequara's Severino Nunes got a free kick in the 74th minute. Bernardo Vinhas's late challenge caught a Flacandói F. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Vinhas helped the player get up and apologised. Cesinha de Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Romeu Damião made a huge save. In the 85th match minute, Flacandói F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severino Almeida to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ibatequara's Romeu Damião got control of the ball when Orlando Ortiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Severino Nunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ibatequara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flacandói F. C. the free kick. The supporters of Flacandói F. C. booed when Ibatequara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Flacandói F. C.'s Orlando Ortiz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Romeu Damião narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Orlando Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
