Carlos Machado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio Pires in the 7th minute of the match. Sérgio Neiva scored 1-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vito Diniz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Virgílio Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Itanaje's Vito Diniz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Itanaje from getting a goal against them. Marcos Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. One of Jejui AD - U23:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Itanaje:s goal. Olavo de Lara shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Ediberto Amaral was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After a defensive mix-up in Itanaje's zone, Gláuber Vargas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vito Diniz came out of the goal and Gláuber Vargas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evandro Vergílio's late challenge caught a Itanaje's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evandro Vergílio helped the player get up and apologised. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jejui AD - U23! 1-2 came through a penalty shot after 64 played minutes, when Itanaje:s Olavo de Lara calmly waited for Jejui AD - U23:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. Gláuber Vargas took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vito Diniz. Vito Diniz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. When Dadá Souza fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itanaje's protests and gave Dadá Souza a yellow card for diving instead. After 95 minutes of play, Jejui AD - U23's Gláuber Vargas made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vito Diniz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Jejui AD - U23 were victorious despite being under pressure from Itanaje for much of the match.
