Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Almir Paes took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Magno Gomes in the 4th minute of play forced Itaguacu AD's goalkeeper Ernesto Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elano Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1-0 became the score in the 8th minute when Almir Paes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. If Almir Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magno Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Sena having to interfere. Almir Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho França having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Piria's Edvaldo de Andrade broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Almir Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ronaldinho França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Magno Gomes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Magno Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rony Cabral struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Ernesto Sena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piria. If Elano Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Almir Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldinho França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rony Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Piria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rony Cabral couldn't finish the play. If Elano Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Almir Paes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Ernesto Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magno Gomes in the 54th minute of play. After 57 played minutes Piria got a freekick which was hit by João Adolfo da Silva. 58 minutes into the match, Itaguacu AD's Elano Aguiar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronaldinho França narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 60 played minutes Itaguacu AD got a freekick which was hit by Túlio Pena. If Rony Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Elano Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Magno Gomes might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ernesto Sena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Magno Gomes ran back to his position shaking his head. Ernesto Sena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rony Cabral in the 76th minute. Rony Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Sena having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by João Adolfo da Silva during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Itaguacu AD booed when Piria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Adolfo da Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Itaguacu AD's Carlos Fernando da Silveira tried to score from far away in the 86th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Piria's Ronaldinho França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano Aguiar in the 91st minute of play. Magno Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Sena having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Piria players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Itaguacu AD.
