When Fernão Mello came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Verme Cinza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernão Mello couldn't finish the play. After having played for 8 minutes, Edson de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verme Cinza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edson de Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Satucaia's goalkeeper Fausto Araújo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bernard Golota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Vergílio, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After a rather tough play, Verme Cinza's Edson de Toledo got a free kick in the 18th minute. If Cássio Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Satucaia's Fausto Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernão Mello in the 23rd minute of play. Bernard Golota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacinto Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Satucaia's Fausto Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernão Mello in the 34th minute of play. Fausto Araújo made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Jacinto Gaspar sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Verme Cinza booed when Satucaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vítor Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Verme Cinza's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wlodzimierz Ledochowski in the 39th minute. If Jacinto Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernão Mello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 minutes of play, Verme Cinza's Jacinto Gaspar made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fausto Araújo was left in no man's land by his defense there! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 55th minute, Fernão Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Verme Cinza's Fernão Mello got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fausto Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernão Mello in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luizão Vergílio got free with Bernard Golota in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th minute, Simão da Cunha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Soares in the 72nd minute of play forced Verme Cinza's goalkeeper Bernard Golota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Verme Cinza getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Zé Roberto de Godoy hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Satucaia's zone, Jacinto Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto Araújo came out of the goal and Jacinto Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the game, Verme Cinza's Fernão Mello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fausto Araújo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Bernard Golota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Soares in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 87th minute Cássio Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Golota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fausto Araújo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernão Mello's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Verme Cinza's Bernard Golota played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cássio Soares in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Soares in the 99th minute of play forced Verme Cinza's goalkeeper Bernard Golota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Verme Cinza had played much better football throughout.
