Pedrão de Sena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Costa in the 11th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Carlos Eduardo Brodel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arueira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guanamby the free kick. The supporters of Guanamby booed when Arueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Eduardo Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Recife having to interfere. Adrianinho Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nando Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nando Costa in the 27th minute of play forced Guanamby's goalkeeper Pedrão de Sena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armandinho Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luisinho Abraão hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Armandinho Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nando Costa made a kick off. Alfredão Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edgar Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Luisão Recife tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 minutes of play, Arueira's Nando Costa made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedrão de Sena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nando Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão de Sena having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Arueira got a freekick which was hit by Nando Costa. If Luisinho Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 71 played minutes Guanamby got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Pereira. After 72 played minutes, Arueira's Paulo Renato Campidelis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedrão de Sena came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arueira reached it. Nando Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão de Sena having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Guanamby got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Mandrak. In the 77th minute of the match Paulo Renato Campidelis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedrão de Sena showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Arueira's Luisinho Abraão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedrão de Sena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Adrianinho Madureira hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Arueira had won after a very even match.
