Rodriguinho Perez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Fábio Jacinto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Ernani da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Baiano having to interfere. With a little luck, Sitio SS's Sérgio Baiano got control of the ball when Ernani da Silveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute, Falcão Jacinto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sérgio Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Túlio Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Iauarete's goal looked a bit too open when Rodriguinho Perez came free, but Luiz Fábio Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Sitio SS's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Carioca came free, but Sérgio Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernani da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Sérgio Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marquinhos Costa struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Sérgio Baiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iauarete. In the 44th minute Rodriguinho Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fábio Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodriguinho Perez made a kick off. Sitio SS's Sérgio Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani da Silveira in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Marquinhos Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iauarete's Luiz Fábio Jacinto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Iauarete from getting a goal against them. Rodriguinho Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Bebeto Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sitio SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Bebeto Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fábio Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bebeto Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Luiz Fábio Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodriguinho Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Rodriguinho Perez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sérgio Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernani da Silveira in the 78th minute of the match. Sérgio Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernani da Silveira in the 83rd minute of play. Ernani da Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Túlio Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Sérgio Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernani da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Baiano having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodriguinho Perez in the 94th minute of play forced Iauarete's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bebeto Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Jacinto having to interfere. A collision led to Iauarete getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Marquinhos Costa hit a great ball.
