The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Curima AD's Acácio Brodel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Walmir Dantas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Curima AD's Delfim Hermes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Walmir Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Comfortably Numb FC's Walmir Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Acácio Brodel in the 10th minute of play. If Delfim Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Raí Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 30 minutes, Raí Galvão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curima AD and the Comfortably Numb FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raí Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Renan Dantas was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Júnior Porto. With his leg Renan Dantas managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Comfortably Numb FC's Pedrão Rodrigues fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio Brodel in the 44th minute of play forced Comfortably Numb FC's goalkeeper Walmir Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Acácio Brodel was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Curima AD's Delfim Hermes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Walmir Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Pedrão Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renan Dantas. Curima AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedrão Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Dito Secco came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Comfortably Numb FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dito Secco couldn't finish the play. If Pedrão Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Curima AD's Acácio Brodel got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 71 minutes into the game, Delfim Hermes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Walmir Dantas. Delfim Hermes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Dito Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Delfim Hermes got free with Walmir Dantas in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Delfim Hermes struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Walmir Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curima AD. Walmir Dantas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delfim Hermes in the 91st minute. Pedrão Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
