Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Zé Carlos Silveira started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Amílton Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tião Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute, Zé Carlos Silveira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caracol SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Caracol SC's Amílton Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Damião in the 14th minute of play. If Afonso Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Carlos Silveira in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antônio Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rd minute, Zé Carlos Silveira fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Antônio Reis, passed just outside the right post. 28 minutes into the match, Caracol SC's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Damião came free, but Amílton Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Caracol SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Digo Teixeira was slow to take the kick. During this time Arencas's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Arencas booed when Caracol SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arencas's Digo Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41stth minute of the game Zé Carlos Silveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arencas's Antônio Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Arencas's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos Silveira came free, but Antônio Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Luiz Barros struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Antônio Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caracol SC. Arencas's Antônio Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Silveira in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Afonso Damião was the one to do the kick off. Dagoberto Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Meireles having to interfere. When Pedro Luiz Barros came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Caracol SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luiz Barros couldn't finish the play. Caracol SC's Pedro Luiz Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Carlos Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Reis having to interfere. In the 67th match minute, Arencas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Renato Lopez to maneuver through the defense. Zé Carlos Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Antônio Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Afonso Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Caracol SC's Jeferson Perez got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute of the match Digo Teixeira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Amílton Meireles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pedro Luiz Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 80 minutes into the game, Caracol SC's Pedro Luiz Barros nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antônio Reis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 85 minutes into the match, Arencas's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos Silveira came free, but Antônio Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Carlos Silveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Arencas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caracol SC.
