Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Buracao's Christian Cardoso started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan de Sena during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Raúl Magalhãess short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Carlos Correia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Allan de Sena hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Buracao's Armando Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Róbson Pires in the 17th minute of play. After 22 played minutes Gaivota got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Vianna. 23 minutes into the game, Róbson Pires was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gaivota's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buracao the free kick. The supporters of Buracao booed when Gaivota was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gaivota's zone, Raúl Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Correia came out of the goal and Raúl Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Christian Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Carlos Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, one of Gaivota:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Elano do Valle shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Christian Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raúl Magalhães in the 44thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Correia, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Raúl Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Correia having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
If Róbson Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Raúl Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buracao's supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Magalhães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christian Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Róbson Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gaivota's supporters crossed their fingers, but Róbson Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Buracao fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! Armando Marinho had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Reinaldo Nóbrega's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Róbson Pires had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armando Marinho. Buracao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Róbson Pires was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 81st minute Raúl Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rdth minute of the game Christian Cardoso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gaivota's Carlos Correia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christian Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Carlos Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buracao. 98 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luiz Toledo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gaivota's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buracao the free kick. Sílvio Luiz Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. Buracao were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Gaivota to leave the ground with a draw.
