The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Moleque Travesso's Joaquim Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Souza in the 4th minute of play. With a little luck, Tuounare AD's Lauro Saldanha got control of the ball when Eusébio Messias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joaquim Andrade didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jarbas Ramos went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Moleque Travesso's Joaquim Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Souza in the 15th minute of play. In the 19th minute Jarbas Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Moleque Travesso getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Raimundo de Azevedo hit a great ball. When Tuounare AD's Evaristo Souza in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 27th minute, Jarbas Ramos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erasmo Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Andrade having to interfere. Joaquim Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Souza in the 31st minute of the match. In the 40th match minute, Tuounare AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Reis to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the match, Tuounare AD's goalkeeper Lauro Saldanha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Messias. Rafinha Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Lauro Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Tuounare AD were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evaristo Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. Jarbas Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 52nd match minute, Moleque Travesso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Vidal to maneuver through the defense.
