The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fellipe Moreira during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fellipe Moreira hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute, Bernardo Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Nóbrega in the 14th minute of play forced Bonsucesso's goalkeeper Adrianinho Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jefferson Leal charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jefferson Leal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 20 played minutes Bonsucesso got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson Leal. 26 minutes into the match, Macao SS's goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Leão came free, but Frank Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Nóbrega in the 31st minute of play forced Bonsucesso's goalkeeper Adrianinho Moreno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bonsucesso's Adrianinho Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Nóbrega in the 36th minute of play. During the 37th minute of the match Fellipe Moreira completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Fellipe Moreira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 37th match minute, Bonsucesso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fellipe Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Reynaldo Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrianinho Moreno having to interfere. After 42 played minutes Bonsucesso got a freekick which was hit by Bruninho Teixeira.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. André Luís Nóbrega was the one to do the kick off. André Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Frank Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored Macao SS's protests and gave Luís Fernando Mota a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Macao SS's Luís Fernando Mota got a free kick in the 54th minute. Frank Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bonsucesso's Adrianinho Moreno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Bonsucesso from getting a goal against them. Adrianinho Moreno was a little too slow when André Luís Nóbrega got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-1. When André Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Bonsucesso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that André Veloso couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Veloso in the 90th minute of play forced Macao SS's goalkeeper Frank Vasconcelos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Bonsucesso booed when Macao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Veloso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Frank Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Macao SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Macao SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
