Jerzy Mudry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Oliveira in the 5th minute of the match. Júlio Garcia might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisão Albuquerque. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Júlio Garcia ran back to his position shaking his head. Ibiapina SS's Jerzy Mudry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder da Silveira in the 13th minute of play. Ibiapina SS's Alex Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Márcio Costa's late challenge caught a Ibiapina SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Márcio Costa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Luzitania getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Márcio Costa hit a great ball. Luisão Albuquerque came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Ibiapina SS's Geovânio Rodrigues. But to his dismay, Geovânio Rodrigues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 34 minutes into the match, Adelino Oliveira notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ibiapina SS's Jerzy Mudry. Jerzy Mudry was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jerzy Mudry came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Luzitania's Adelino Oliveira. But to his dismay, Adelino Oliveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Luzitania's Luisão Albuquerque proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Luzitania from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Ibiapina SS's Júlio Garcia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luisão Albuquerque. That made the score 2-2 after 46 minutes of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Ibiapina SS's Jerzy Mudry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder da Silveira in the 56th minute of play. When Zé Augusto Torres fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luzitania's protests and gave Zé Augusto Torres a yellow card for diving instead. Júlio Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Luisão Albuquerque tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Paulo José dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Oliveira in the 91st minute of play forced Ibiapina SS's goalkeeper Jerzy Mudry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ibiapina SS lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
