After a rather tough play, Tortinho's Alfredo Viana got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Laércio Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Erasmo Hermes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erasmo Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laércio Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13thth minute of the game Laércio Lopez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tortinho's Erasmo Hermes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Laércio Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorginho Costa got free with Orlando de Medeiros in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Tortinho booed when Cambuhy EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duda Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erasmo Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldemar Fernandez in the 28th minute of play. Jorginho Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Laércio Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Hermes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Lopez in the 40th minute of play. When Laércio Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Cambuhy EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laércio Lopez couldn't finish the play. Duda Nogueira's late challenge caught a Tortinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duda Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. Duda Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Gernando Penha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Orlando de Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Waldemar Fernandez to make the kick off. Tortinho's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Duda Nogueira 53 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. Jorginho Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Tortinho booed when Cambuhy EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percy Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Waldemar Fernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
