The supporters of Verdes FC booed when Carbonita SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agenor Batista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdir Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorian Trigo in the 14th minute of play. Dorian Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agenor Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurício Costa in the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Carbonita SC defense, Ramiro Leite kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agenor Batista. The Carbonita SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agenor Batista should have stopped the shot. Manolo Matorin's late challenge caught a Verdes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manolo Matorin helped the player get up and apologised. Paulo José Machado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Agenor Batista. Carbonita SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dorian Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Valdir Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 79 played minutes, Carbonita SC's Edgar Schmidt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valdir Fernandez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carbonita SC reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Verdes FC's zone, Manolo Matorin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdir Fernandez came out of the goal and Manolo Matorin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Verdes FC's Maurício Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Carbonita SC fully deserved thier win.
