In the 22nd minute, Mazinho Britto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitinho Mello was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Vitinho Mello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mazinho Britto's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute, Raí Neiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th minute Mazinho Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitinho Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Mazinho Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trindade's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mazinho Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Trindade's zone, Ramiro da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernardinho Quintal came out of the goal and Ramiro da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, Trindade's goal looked a bit too open when Raí Neiva came free, but Bernardinho Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Danilo de Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trindade's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piao SS the free kick. Danilo de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The Piao SS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Trindade were winning 0-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Sílvio Luís Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piao SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luís Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The tension between the Piao SS and the Trindade players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Trindade booed when Piao SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ramiro da Fonseca in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardinho Quintal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raí Neiva struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Bernardinho Quintal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piao SS. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mazinho Britto got free with Vitinho Mello in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Trindade walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
